Best laugh I've had in awhile!

Don't you love it when you're going about your day and you run across someone that looks like they are straight out of an SNL sketch? Well when this woman sat down next to us at Wildfire, I don't know if my sister and I were slaphappy from lack of sleep or what, but we laughed until we cried. Everyone thought we were nuts, but come on! Oh man, I'm laughing even now as I post.

Lunch with Gramps

Saturday we dragged ourselves out of bed to go take Gramps to lunch. Since he lost Grandma earlier this year we have to make sure he's well taken care of. He was looking good and we had a great lunch at Wildfire. Yup, more food.

Going Out Continued...

Well of course with Sis and Mike in town I had to take them over to the Violet Hour. This time we tried their peanut butter, banana and bacon deep fried sandwich. Yum. Afterward we headed over to the Pontiac for some live band Karaoke...but the sound was so loud, and Sara (Squared) were so annoying that we were quickly driven out of there...too bad, we wanted to hear Sis sing her version of Time after Time. Next we met up with Andrea and friends, where we proceeded to drink some more and of course ended up eating Hot Dogs at Midnight. For future reference, Clark Dog is better than 'Eat Me' Underdogs, but really, after Midnight, it all tastes good.

And then we ate....

Here we are on our way to get some food and drink. My 6th day out in a row if anyone's counting. Ugg. My stomach hates me.

TechGeeks.com

My sister and Mike are in town this week and on Thursday we attended the Tech Cocktail Conference, exciting I know...but Mike and our good friend Ant ran one of the workshops at the event...my sister and I handed out the paper and pens. Here we are in action:

Beware of the Bacteria!

Monday was spent canoeing on the Chicago river. Some of us worked our asses off getting up and down the full length of the river, and some of us went half way and floated back. I'll let you decide who did what. Either way, it was finally a nice day to be outside and we all enjoyed it in our own way.

Future Cravings....

Only in Chicago Kristin. Remember that.

KristinUSVI in CHI

It was a whirlwind Memorial Day weekend when one of my best friends, Kristin, came in all the way from SF to hang. We started off the weekend with a walk through the city on Saturday, and ended up at the Lincoln Park Zoo and Atrium. In the evening we met up with Andrea and the debauchery started at Violet Hour. Sunday night we hit the Green Mill with Jimmyzzz and Andrea for some incredible Jazz, and gave Kristin the Chicago hot dog experience at 3am in the pouring rain, ahhhhh Chicago.

It would take a whole page to list all of the things we ate this weekend, so, I'll just say, we had a great weekend and post some pics to prove it. Miss you already girl! XOXOXO

Summer Street Festival Kick Off!

The girls and I kicked off the season of summer street festivals at Mayfest on Sunday. It took over a small city block, but hey, it had beer, corndogs and bad cover bands, so what more do you need? Here's to eating nachos at midnight amidst the cleaning crew breaking down the event ....and more food on sticks to come!

Fun at the Violet Hour

I'll have more fun at the Violet Hour in the weeks to come because everyone visiting from out of town wants to go there. These pictures are from when Ms. Andrea Fears crazy family/cohorts were in town. I could use one of their drinks now...and a chicken tamale from that damn red cooler.....but then you can't really have both, can you?

Stories

Stories- I have a lot of em. Too many. No, not interesting tales I'd tell people in mixed company, or even one on one...TV shows. Too many to name too, you wouldn't believe it if I told you. Check back frequently for updates on my life outside of the house. Actually, in that case you don't need to check back too frequently.
